Sheri Graham

Business Development Manager

Email: sheri@equitrace.app

×
Sheri developed a passion for horses at an early age. Growing up in Lansing, MI, Sheri lived in the city but had a friend with 2 horses and spent a lot of time on the farm riding with her bestie. This was the beginning of a “horse crazy” phase of her life that has never subsided. From there she took riding lessons and showed hunter jumpers until graduating from high school.

To build on her affection for the horse, Sheri attended an agricultural branch of Ohio State University, studying Horse Production and Management. The goal was to teach and train eventers and keep her amateur status and someday ride in the Olympics. Well, the 1st horse she worked with in college was a Thoroughbred yearling being broke to race and that was all she wrote. After college, Sheri relocated to central Kentucky to pursue a career in the thoroughbred industry.

After many years working on farms in Kentucky, Sheri has assumed roles as a foreman, assistant manager, and managed a large breeding farm with over 200 head. She has been heavily involved in both the thoroughbred and standardbred horse auctions for decades. At one point, she even had a role as a sales coordinator for a large commercial consignor. Sheri is still active in the horse sales in Kentucky, Florida, and New York. Sheri ended up spending 14 years working in equine pharmaceuticals, working in the pharmacy of a world-renowned veterinary practice, as well as a few years running a private equine compounding pharmacy.

Sheri missed the therapeutic effects of working hands on with horses every day and shifted her passion to horse nutrition. Always wanting to help the horses and horseman, Sheri found her niche in specializing in nutrition for race and performance horses. Traveling to racetracks all over the U.S., she continued to advise and help horses and trainers by educating and optimizing their feeding programs. Sheri moved to New York for a year and ran a large feed company at Belmont Park. A most recent addition to her resume, Sheri was the official nutritional advisor to the 2023 Kentucky Derby winner. Still having the desire to help horses and horseman, she has spent the last couple of years working not only with the nutrition faucet but has also introduced the trainers to some innovative technology devices that could give them a better internal view of their horse's fitness.

When Sheri is not off following racing everywhere, she enjoys working out, performing karaoke, plants, and gardening. Sheri is also a true foodie, seeking beautiful food everywhere she goes, with an affinity for Asian cuisine. When not busy with racing or traveling for work, she enjoys quiet time at home with her 2 dogs.
